Antique 8 Point Star Quilt All Hand Stitched/Hand Quilted Woven checks 1830-1840

  

8 pointed Eastern Star made with homespun cotton, shirting checks & ginghams. Very old fabrics dated to the very early "Wild West" days.

Contrast stitching, all hand-sewn and hand quilted. Wonderful color story, super soft cotton, a little bit frayed on the edge where the stars are in half, this is the original composition, mot trimmed away, just intended to be this way. The quilt has a wonderful feel, the orange squares in the frames are a delightful added pop of color.

Although the stars are mixed and not perfectly lined up it all adds to the balance and irregular dynamic to this finished quilt. A little staining, light, in one beige area.
