Antique Ocean Waves Quilt Top c. 1880

  

This is an antique Ocean Waves quilt top c. 1880's measuring 50" by 75". It is made up of 39 muslin blocks 4.5" by 5" set on point and staggered. Each square has inner edges of red and orange for a very eye appealing pattern.

The top is entirely hand pieced with nice stitches of 6 to 7 stitches per inch. One row of the 5 muslin blocks have pin holes in them (pictured) and there are 3-4 blocks with age discoloration - other than that, no other damage.
