Antique handmade folky red and green applique Summer Spread or Quilt. Turkey red small floral print with overdyed green on white cotton sheeting. The pattern is large laurel leaves with red leaves or flowers. This one has some age to itprobably dating around the 1860-70s.

It is one layer onlyno backing or batting. Edges are hemmed and finished. All applique work is done by hand. Would make an interesting wall hanging or curtain! Measures about 88 x 94.

There is some splits or tears on the white fabrics along with small fray holes. The red floral has faded to a pinky red hue. Many of the flower centers are worn awaybut others are left intact.

The green is an overdyed green and now has a yellowish hue. Some leaves and flowers need to be resewn and tacked down. There are a few faint spots. No yellowing or storage foxing.
