Consists of (182) 9 PATCH squares, interspersed with (156) solid color squares, for a total of (338) blocks. It is an antique piece, ALL HAND PIECED AND HAND SEWN, made during the 1920's. Pieces include cotton fabric scraps as well as period shirting material. They didn't let anything go to waste! This is a nice country design that would look very good in a variety of cabins, colonial houses, or primitive settings. Because of the variety of colors, it will go in any room, with any color scheme.
A really nice looking quilt top for display, for use, or for background for a period collection. And of course would be beautiful if completed into a finished quilt, could be used as a copy pattern for another one, or even material for craft projects. In any event, a nicely made antique quilt top. While a quilt top and not a finished quilt, all the hard, time-consuming work has already been done....All the hours of designing, cutting out & piecing.... And all the hand sewing. Requires only quilting to finish into a completed quilt.
It is a perfect candidate for practice or use with a long-arm quilting machine, or it can be hand quilted. THIS ONE WOULD MAKE A GREAT, BEAUTIFUL QUILT WHEN COMPLETED!!
In excellent condition overall, with very bright colors. 2 blocks have tiny holes, which can easily be replaced. I have not laundered this quilt top and preferred to keep it just as it came, "as found", from the estate.
