Up for your consideration is a vintage hand made Story or Folk Art Quilt from the subcontinents eastern region embroidery including Bengal. Kanthas (quilts) were often made originally by illiterate rural women who would stitch stories into their Kantha (quilt). They generally used simple running stitches.
This one has Bengali women, Ber Trees and JuJube fruit, Asian elephants, tigers, moorhen, rhinoceros and more. All of the white area is done in white on white Kantha. Look closely at the stitches in photo # 10.There are some thread pulls an a couple very little spots. The backing may have been replaced - not sure - It is just a plain white sheeting material (photo #9). This would make a gorgeous wall hanging - Size 81 inches by 85 inches.
