Vtg 1930s Grandmother's Fan Quilt 74 x 92 Feedsack Pink Colorful Hand Qltd
Vintage 1930s Grandmother's Fan Quilt. Pink cotton fan centers, pink cotton binding on 3 edges. In a mix of feedsack and other 100% vintage cotton.
Unbleached cotton fan corners, one side of binding and entire backing. Hand stitched and hand quilted. Batting is of the thin kind for a summer quilt. Has a light vintage storage odor - not offensive. Measures 74" x 92" (Double). This stunning quilt is in overall good condtiion, but does have some conditions to note (see photos).There are some tears and seam releases in the fan blades on one end of the quilt. There are loose seams at one end of the unbleached cotton binding. Quite a bit of the hand quilting near the top of the quilt has come loose. There are a couple of very light discolorations on the white portions of the top (not glaring or extensive).
There is one small hole in the backing. Photos 1-3 show the quilt laid flat on a queen size bed.
Photos 4-7 show the quilt sides in quadrants. Photo 8 shows the backing. Photos 9-12 show the tearing and seam releasing in the fan blades and binding.
It is a bit fragile for daily use in its current condition; perfectly fine for display. I would not use for a daily quilt without some restoration.
